The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma noted the good performance by the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) as reflected by the  unqualified audit outcomes without findings for the 2018/2019 financial year. In tabling the report, the AGSA said the organisation’s financial statements “present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent as of 31 March 2019, and its financial performance and cash flows for the year”. In light of the finding, Minister congratulates MISA team, led by the CEO, Mr Ntandazo Vimba and the entire team who made this achievement possible. This report affirms the Minister’s view that we need to strengthen MISA and make its capability available to improve the financial performance of municipalities. Minister indicated that there is much work to be done to ensure MISA continues to contribute to the development of the much needed infrastructure in our municipalities and thus ensuring improved service delivery to communities. Minister urged MISA to continuously observe internal financial and governance controls to ensure that it remains efficient and effective in the execution of its responsibilities.
