MINISTER NKADIMENG WELCOMES THE APPOINTMENT OF MISA CEO
The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Ms Thembi Nkadimeng, has welcomed the approval by Cabinet of the appointment of Ms Mapatane Elizabeth Kgomo as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA).
MISA is an agency under the Ministry Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) mandated to provide technical support and build capacity in local government.
Ms. Mapatane ‘Pati’ Kgomo is academically qualified seasoned administrator, with vast experience in good governance, strategic planning and implementation, and project and programme management.
She has 16 years of experience in the local government sector and has worked as a senior and executive manager in the North West Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs responsible for municipal governance and administration support.
She also served in the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) for almost five years and was exposed to infrastructure planning, financing, and implementation in various sectors.
She joined the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) as a Deputy Director General responsible for a branch called Infrastructure Delivery Management Support in January 2020.
In April 2023, she assumed the role of the Acting CEO of MISA until her appointment.
The Minister wishes Ms Kgomo well in her new role of leading MISA towards achieving its mandate and supporting municipalities in infrastructure provisioning, refurbishment, maintenance and thus contributing to the service delivery to our communities.
